"I am pleased Monroe County and the Finger Lakes Region are moving into Phase Three of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's plan to reopen New York State. This is a testament to how well we have come together as a community to practice physical distancing, wear face coverings and follow guidelines intended to keep us safe and healthy.

Beginning tomorrow, I will reopen Monroe County playgrounds. Families should stay six feet apart from others and children should wash their hands or use hand sanitizer after playing.

In anticipation of our transition into Phase Three on Friday, Monroe County distributed nearly 350,000 masks to 700 restaurant owners and food service operators this week. This will help these establishments, many of which are small, family-run businesses, open their doors for indoor dining and bring employees back to work quickly.

I urge everyone to continue observing all public health guidelines related to COVID-19 to make sure we stay on our path forward."
